New work by director Nadezhda Alexeeva «The Cat Who Walked by Himself» will be presenting in St.Petersburg in first time. Here?s the chance to see our new production onstage, as the company visits St.Petersburg International Festival «Christmas Parade» 17 December 2009 (18.00). The new creation with very long name: ?97 AND A HALF STEPS ON ROAD, WHICH FLIES OVER THE BACK DRAGON SLEEPING AT OCEAN?, will celebrate its premiere on the 28, 29 October in the theatre ?Mali? The performance, created by director Nadezhda Alexeeva, is a show conceived as a theatre?s game, where mysterious happenings occur along with special atmospheres. The theatre performance was inspired by the stories of the Japanese myths about Moon Maiden and her marriage, about very long name for boy and battle with spider-werewolf. New show creates the European look to other culture, trying to amalgamates the spirits of Japan. After visit Osaka and Okinawa in 2008, theatre ?Mali? was full of artistic impression and new production is a reflection of our way ? together with bamboo sticks, which creates a road and bow of samurai, with latern magic of lights on stage and choreography.
This year International Theatre Kingfestival will present new productions, based on a wide range of stories from Bible myths to folk epos and Shakespeare, from Singapore, Latvia, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Denmark, Lithuania, South Korea, Israel and Russia. The special program of the Festival will include: Conference for managers of international theatre festivals from Serbia, Finland, Spain, Latvia, Hungary, Estonia, Turkey; Discussions and workshops for young theatre critics ?Young critics as theatre future? with students from Moscow, St.Petersburg (Russia), Riga(Latvia), Tartu(Estonia); actor?s workshop by Kim Woo OK (Seoul, Korea) ; The cultural project ?Swiss Step? which unites shows within the frames of the Festival?reflecting contemporary dance theatre of Switzerland and acquaintants Russian spectators with Swiss theatre art.
